Survivor- Thoughts Now that it's Over
Suvivor All-Stars is over and I'm sure if it was
the most interesting or the most annoying. Probably a combination of the
two!
Wow! Where to start? I still don't understand why
they didn't vote off Rob a long time ago. His obvious physical strength,
leadership, and skill and manipulating people made him a candidate to kick off
the island. They seem to have been afraid of the "Robfather" as one of the
contestants mentioned.
Jenna probably
voted off Rupert since she felt she would have a better chance versus Rob in the
final two. But, by keeping Rob and Amber she made it two versus one (her)
instead of everyone for themselves.
Rob
tried to state that it was only a game and all of the backstabbing mental games
were only done to win the dough. I could believe him except for something. The
personal interviews Ron gave during the game (the ones the do with an isolated
contestant in order to clarify or expand upon something happening in the game)
were revealing. Ron talked smack about everyone at some point. Well, except for
Amber.
Is it right to play the game
with disregard for people's feelings? It is "just a game". I'm not sure but I do
know that I would take things very
personally.
And Jerri. Please. I
thought at the beginning of the All-Stars that she seemed different but as the
days went by we saw the same Jerri. She's played the game before and she knows
what it's about. And she proceeds to talk about how people are taking delight in
other people's misery. I could almost believe her except that one of her goals
was to get revenge on Colby and get him kicked off before she got kicked
off.
Did you notice Sue? She sat with
her back to Richard the entire time. And nothing was brought up during the
reunion about Richard's harassment of her. And she got a deal to be on a
personal makeover show. I don't know if the two are related but it's a pretty
good bet Sue got some kind of settlement. If so, she's probably not allowed to
talk about it which would be why it never came
up.
No matter how they complain about
Rob, they all did it to themselves. Lex had Jerri voted off instead of Amber due
to a possible future favor in spite of Jerri's appreciation and devotion to
Lex's alliance. Jenna shouldn't have kicked off Rupert since by keeping Amber
and Rob she had to get immunity to stay. Colby shouldn't have talked smack to
Shii-ann when he did. Don't people know that always come back to haunt them?
Most of them made a critical mistake which led to them being kicked off. And in
a game with experienced Suvivor players, make a mistake and you're
gone.
The only thing left is for me to
go and vote for Rupert so he can win a million dollars. Go Rupert! Go
Rupert!
The producers and editors of
this show are very good at their job. I just wonder if the show has any
excitement left for the next group of people.
